Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan ikan Cakalang bersifat allometrik positif dengan nilai faktor kondisi sebesar 1,20. Ikan yang paling sering tertangkap yaitu pada kisaran 30 – 34 cm. Ukuran pertama kali ikan matang gonad untuk jantan 41,5 cm dan betina 40,1 cm. Ukuran ikan yang tertangkap sebagian besar belum layak untuk ditangkap karena 1/2 L∞ > L 50% < Lm. Nilai IKG jantan berkisar 0,08 – 3,58 dan betina 0,13 – 4,35. KM 30 – 50 GT memiliki nilai CPUE tertinggi yaitu sebesar 2.702,17 kg/trip. Usaha penangkapan PMT lebih menguntungkan karena pendapatan harian nelayan PMT lebih besar dibandingkan dengan nelayan KM. Rencana Pengelolaan yang disarankan yaitu pengaturan ukuran ikan layak tangkap, pengaturan mata jaring mini purse seine (> 6 cm), gill net (>10 cm) dan ukuran mata pancing (<5), pengendalian dan pemantauan jumlah armada penangkapan dan alat tangkap yang beroperasi, serta pengaturan musim dan daerah penangkapan. The most frequently caught fish that is in the range of 30-34 cm. The size of the first fish mature male gonads to 41,5 cm and 40,1 cm in females. The size of the fish caught mostly not worthy to be arrested because 1/2 L∞> L50% <Lm. IKG value males ranged from 0,08 to 3,58 and female 0,13 to 4,35. Motor boat 30-50 GT has the highest CPUE value that is equal to 2702,17 kg/trip. Outboard fishing effort is more profitable for fishermen because outboard daily income is greater than fishermen motor boat.
