Author Guidelines

General Information
Management of Aquatic Resources Journal (MAQUARES) journal publishes 2 issues per year with original research article. The article is an original work and is not published in any other journal if there is such breach, it is not allowed to publish in the journal Maquares. Maquares accepts articles on aquatic and marine resources field. The detailed scopes are as follows:

  • Fisheries resource management (e.g. growth curve, maximum sustainability yield (MSY), first capture size, etc),
  • Aquatic resource management (e.g. water quality measurement either in terrestrial, estuarine or marine),
  • Aquatic plants (e.g. mangrove, sea grass, sea weed, etc),
  • Invertebrates (e.g. benthic bioecology, crustacean bioecology, mollusc bioecology, coralogy)
  • Aquatic microbiology
  • Aquatic pollution and its control,
  • Aquatic ecology,
  • Hydrobiology,
  • Capture Fisheris,
  • Aquatic biotechnology,
  • Remote sensing of fisheries and marine resources (GIS),
  • Aquatic ecotourism,
  • Economic valuation of aquatic resources.

Authorship
Each listed author must have made meaningful contributions to the work in at least one of the following areas:

  1. Developing the study concept and design, collecting data, or analyzing and interpreting the results.
  2. Guiding during research and writing process
  3. Writing the manuscript or providing significant revisions with critical intellectual input.
  4. Giving final approval of the version intended for submission.

A corresponding author should be designated to handle all communication with the journal throughout the editorial process. All authors share collective responsibility for the entire content of the work, ensuring that any concerns regarding accuracy or integrity are properly addressed and resolved. Request to change authorship can be made before the acceptance of the article and should be made by the corresponding author, who must provide the reason for the request to the journal editor with written confirmation from all authors, including any authors being added or removed, that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement.


Declaration of Competing Interests
All authors are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships with individuals or organizations that could inappropriately influence—or be perceived to influence—the content or outcomes of their work.

Writing and Formatting
File Format
Authors are requested to submit editable source files for the entire manuscript. Use editable file formats: Word documents should be saved with the extensions .doc or .docx. PDF files are not accepted as source files. The manuscript text should be formatted in a single-column layout.
Article Title
The title of the article should be clear, concise, and informative (maximum 20 words). Avoid using abbreviations or formulas unless they are well-established and widely recognized (e.g., DNA). 
Author Names and Affiliations
List each author's full given name(s) and family name(s) as they should appear in the publication. The author order must match the sequence entered in the submission system. Ensure all names are spelled correctly.
Affiliations
Include the institutional affiliation for each author, corresponding to where the research was conducted. Use lowercase superscript letters placed directly after the author’s name and before the respective affiliation to indicate the connection. Provide complete postal addresses for all affiliations, including the country name. If possible, also include each author's email address.
Corresponding Author
Clearly identify the corresponding author responsible for managing all communication regarding the manuscript throughout the review, publication, and post-publication stages. This includes addressing inquiries related to the article’s results, data, methods, and materials. Make sure the corresponding author’s email address and contact information remain current during the entire submission and publication process.
Abstract
A clear and concise abstract, not exceeding 250 words, is required. It should briefly summarize the purpose of the research, key findings (result), and main conclusions. Avoid using references. Do not use non-standard or uncommon abbreviations. If their use is essential, define them at their first mention within the abstract.
Keywords
Provide 5 keywords for indexing purposes. Try to avoid using multi-word phrases that include "and" or "of." Keywords must be in alphabetic order.
Introduction
The introduction explains the background, problem, and objectives of the research.
Materials and Method
The research methods section outlines the research stages and describes the materials and equipment used for data collection and analysis.
Result and Discussion
The results section explains and details the findings of the research. The discussion section should interpret the results obtained and compare them with similar studies.

Conclusion

The conclusion should be presented in paragraph form and must address the objectives of the research.
Acknowledgment and Funding Sources
Authors are required to disclose all sources of financial support received for conducting the research and/or preparing the manuscript.
References
A minimum of 10 references must be included, comprising sources used in the writing of the article. For books, only those published within the last 10 years should be included. The primary references (journals) should be more than 80% from the last 5 years and should have a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The references should be arranged alphabetically, and it is recommended to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, etc under the Hardvard Style.

Tables
Tables should be submitted as editable text, not images. Position tables near the relevant text. Reference all tables in the manuscript text. Number the tables consecutively based on their order of appearance in the text. Include captions for each table. Place any table notes below the table body. Avoid using vertical lines or shading within table cells.
Figures and Images
Figures, images, artwork, diagrams, and other graphical media must be inside the manuscript. Cite all images in the manuscript text. Number images in the order they appear within the article. Provide captions for all figures, images, and artwork. Text graphics can be embedded directly into the manuscript at the appropriate locations.

Supplementary Material
We encourage the inclusion of supplementary materials such as applications, images, and sound clips to support and enhance the research. Supplementary materials should be relevant and accurate in relation to the research. Cite all supplementary files in the manuscript text. Submit supplementary materials at the same time as the article. Please note that these materials will appear online in the file type they were received and will not be reformatted or typeset by the production team.

Before finalizing your manuscript submission, please review the following checklist:
• One author has been designated as the corresponding author, and their full contact information (email address, full postal address, and phone numbers) has been provided.
• All required files have been uploaded, including keywords, figure captions, and tables (with titles, descriptions, and footnotes).
• Spelling and grammar checks have been performed.
• All in-text citations are included in the reference list, and all references in the list are cited in the article text.
• Permission has been obtained for any copyrighted material used from external sources, including the web.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
