Dalam penelitian ini diperlukan data primer dan sekunder. Data primer merupakan 10% dari total hasil tangkapan per tabur yang digunakan untuk mengetahui aspek biologi ikan Kuniran sedangkan data sekunder meliputi data produksi ikan Kuniran selama 6 tahun terakhir (2008-2013). Hasil penelitian pada ikan Kuniran untuk seluruh zona struktur ukuran tangkapan berada pada ukuran 77 mm - 172 mm, ukuran rata-rata tertangkap (Lc 50% ) 117mm. Sifat pertumbuhan zona I yaitu allometrik positif sedangkan zona II dan III bersifat allometrik negatif dengan nilai Kn pada semua zona berkisar 1,004 - 1,11. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan Kuniran jantan pada setiap zona didominasi oleh TKG I dan II, nilai korelasi TKG dengan IKG sebesar 0,75 dan TKG ikan Kuniran betina setiap zona didominasi oleh TKG III dan IV, nilai korelasi TKG dengan IKG sebesar 0,90. Ikan Kuniran pertama kali matang gonad (Lm 50% ) berukuran 124,65 mm dan fekunditas berkisar antara 19.850-92.713 butir. Nilai CPUE terbesar pada zona II 0,630 kg/tabur. Upaya pengelolaan Ikan Kuniran di Perairan Kabupaten Pemalang dilakukan dengan cara memperbesar mesh size , mengatur daerah penangkapan dan musim penangkapan. Goatfish is one of demersal fish of the family Mullidae are commonly found in tropical and subtropical marine and usually in the area around coral reefs and that is often caught using danish seine. The research was intended to recognize the biological aspects of the goatfish, the production of goatfish based on the fishing interval and the management of the goatfish resource in Pemalang Waters. The research was done in March-April 2014 using survey method. Sample was taken using simple random sampling method. The data used in the research were both primary and secondary data. The primary data was 10% of the total fish caught in every period of fishing to recognize the biological aspect of the goatfish while the secondary data was the production data of goatfish in recent 6 years (2008-2013). The result of the research can be seen as follows: The size of goatfish in the fishing zone ranges from 77 mm - 172 mm, and the average of caught fish is (Lc 50% ) 117mm. Zone I has positive allometric development while zone II and III has negative allometric value with Kn value of all zones range from 1,004 -1,11. The gonad maturity level for male goatfish was dominated by TKG I and II, the correlation calue between TKG and IKG was 0,75 while the gonad maturity level for female goatfish was dominated by TKG III and IV, the correlation value between TKG and IKG was 0,90. The goatfish experienced first gonad maturity (Lm 50% ) had the size of 124,65 mm and fecundity ranges between 19.850-92.713 items. The biggest CPUE was in zone II with the value 0,630/spreading.
