Abstract

This article discusses his career and the factors that influence Glenn Fredly's success in the Indonesian music industry in the form of a biography. Glenn Fredly’s initial contact with music dates back to his childhood. Having a musician father and a church youth choir trainer as his grandfather made music as an everyday thing for Glenn Fredly. This article is based on research that applies historical methods and uses the concept of topical biographies. The historical method is used in the process of critically examining and analyzing past recordings and relics related to Glenn Fredly as a solo romantic singer in the Indonesian music industry. The historical method provides effective assistance to writers in collecting historical sources, critically assessing, and then presenting a synthesis of the results in the form of historical writings. Glenn's songs are thick with mellow nuances, have a deeper taste, and sound romantic because they are inspired by love stories that have failed several times. Glenn Fredly has released 12 albums and held solo concerts seven times. Glenn's success in the music industry is supported by his family, record company, media, friends, and fans and is proven by his success in winning several awards from various prestigious events.
