Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Maret 2015 dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui total bakteri, kandungan bahan organik total dan hubungan antara total bakteri dan kandungan bahan organik total di perairan muara sungai Babon, Semarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel air pada penelitian ini dilakukan pada tiga stasiun pengamatan, stasiun satu merupakan bagian akhir dari aliran muara Sungai Babon yang sudah berbatasan langsung dengan laut, stasiun dua merupakan bagian tengan aliran air muara Sungai Babon, dan stasiun tiga merupan bagian awal aliran muara Sungai Babon. Sampel air dianalisis di laboratorium untuk pengukuran total bakteri dan bahan organik total. Selain itu pengukuran yang dilakukan secara in situ adalah pengukuran suhu, kecerahan, arus, derajat keasaman, oksigen terlarut dan salinitas. Total bakteri di perairan muara Sungai Babon, Semarang berkisar antara 120 x 10 2 koloni/gr hingga 180 x 10 2 koloni/gr. Kandungan bahan organik total di perairan muara Sungai Babon, Semarang berkisar antara 15,484 mg/l hingga 28,598 mg/l . Total bakteri dengan bahan organik total yang terdapat di perairan muara kali Babon, Semarang memiliki hubungan yang sangat erat dengat tingkat keeratan sebesar 92%. The availability of nutriens in the water can be an indicator of water fertility. In this case, the element nutrient which is visible content of Total Organic Matter in Babon River Estuary, Semarang. The nutrients are crucial to survival of organism in there. Bacteria as a decomposers of organic material very active role to provide nutrient substances in the water such as organic materials. Therefore, the total content of bacteria in a water especially in nutrient provider can be used as an indicator of waters fertility. This researh was conducted on February – March 2015 in order to determine the total bacteria, amout of total organic matter and relations between total bacteria and total organic matter in Babon River Estuary, Semarang. The method used in this research is descriptive. Sampling was conducted at Babon River Estuary at three observation stations, station one is the final part of Babon River Estuarine stream which is directly adjacent to the sea, station two is a central part of Babon River Estuarine stream, station three is the first part of Babon River Estuarine stream. Sample of waters was analized in the laboratory for measurement of total bacteria and total organic matter. In addition, measurements are made in situ measurements of temperature, brightness, flow, waters acidity, total oxygen and salinity. Total bacteria in Babon River Estuarine waters, Semarang ranging from 120 x 10 2 koloni/gr up to 180 x 10 2 koloni/gr. Content of total organic matter in Babon River Estuarine waters, Semarang ranging between 15,484 mg/l up to 28,598 mg/l.
