Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman responden tentang kondisi ekosistem pesisir, mengetahui tingkat pemahaman responden objek wisata pesisir, dan mengetahui kelayakan ekosistem pesisir sebagai objek wisata di Desa Mororejo, Kecamatan Kaliwungu Kendal. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Maret 2014 di pesisir Desa Mororejo, Kecamatan Kaliwungu, Kendal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif dengan wawancara kepada empat macam responden yaitu masyarakat desa, aparat, pengunjung, dan pengguna tentang empat ekosistem pesisir seperti mangrove, pantai, tambak, dan muara. Jumlah responden yang diambil sebanyak 100 orang dengan jumlah masing-masing 30 masyarakat desa, 20 aparat, 20 pengunjung, dan 30 pengguna. Analisis data menggunakan perhitungan hasil kuisioner tentang pemahaman masyarakat terhadap obyek wisata dan kelayakan wisata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman responden terbilang rendah, hanya sekitar 19% yang tahu kondisi ekosistem mangrove, pantai, tambak dan muara pesisir Desa Mororejo, sedangkan tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang obyek wisata pesisir desa Mororejo juga tergolong rendah yaitu 14,12%. Kondisi ekosistem di sekitar pesisir desa Mororejo untuk ekosistem mangrove tergolong kurang baik, untuk ekosistem pantai, tambak dan muara tergolong cukup baik. Kelayakan ekosistem pesisir desa Mororejo untuk wisata cukup baik, tetapi ekosistem mangrove tergolong kurang baik, sedangkan pantai, tambak dan muara tergolong cukup baik sehingga secara keseluruhan kelayakan ekosistem pesisir di desa Mororejo, Kecamatan Kaliwungu Kendal dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obyek wisata pendidikan yaitu ekosistem mangrove dan ekosistem tambak sedangkan wisata rekreasi yaitu ekosistem pantai dan ekosistem muara. Development of marine tourism potential can be done through utilization of tourism objects and attraction optimally. Various tourism objects and attraction that can be used include coastal ecosystem (beach), diversity of flora and fauna. The purpose of this study were to determine the level of understanding of the respondents about condition of coastal ecosystems, the level of knowledge of the coastal tourism attractions, and the feasibility of coastal ecosystems as a tourist attraction in the Mororejo village, Kaliwungu District Kendal. The experiment was conducted from February to March 2014 in the coastal village of Mororejo, Kaliwungu District, Kendal. The method used was descriptive approach with interviews to four kinds of respondents (villagers, officials, visitors, and other users) of the four coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, beaches, ponds, and estuaries. The number of respondents who were taken as many as 100 people with the amount of 30 villages, 20 officers, 20 visitors, and 30 other users. Analysis of the data using the calculation results from questionnaires about people’s understanding of tourism and tourist feasibility. The results showed that the level of understanding of the respondents relatively low, only 19% knew the condition of mangrove ecosystems, beaches, fish ponds and coastal estuaries of Mororejo village, while the level of knowledge on tourist attraction of mangrove ecosystems, beaches, ponds and coastal estuaries of Mororejo village is also quite low at 14,12%. Conditions of coastal ecosystems of the Mororejo village for mangrove ecosystems is less, for the fish pond and estuarine ecosystems are quite good. The feasibility of Mororejo village coastal ecosystem for tourism is well enough, but the mangrove ecosystem is not good, while beaches, fish ponds and estuaries is quite good so overall feasibility of coastal ecosystems in the Mororejo village, Kaliwungu Disctrict Kendal can be used as a tourist attraction, namely education mangrove ecosystems and ecosystem pond while recreational tourism that coastal ecosystems and estuarine ecosystems. }, issn = {2721-6233}, pages = {1--8} doi = {10.14710/marj.v4i2.8502}, url = {https://ejournal3.undip.ac.id/index.php/maquares/article/view/8502} }
