Fase bulan terdiri dari Fase Bulan Baru, Fase Bulan Seperempat, Fase Bulan Penuh (Purnama) dan Fase Bulan Tigaperempat. Kekuatan pasang yang terjadi pada Pasang Purnama ( Spring Tide ) lebih besar, dibandingkan pada Pasang Perbani ( Neap Tide ) . Hal itu disebabkan, karena adanya perbedaan pembangkit pasang surut terkait posisi bulan dan matahari terhadap bumi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui pengaruh fase bulan terhadap kelimpahan dan komposisi Zooplankton Krustasea di Perairan Pantai Jepara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November-Desember 2013. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitan adalah sampel Zooplankton Krustasea yang didapatkan di tiga lokasi penelitian yaitu Teluk Awur, Pantai Kartini dan Pulau Panjang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif, dengan metode pengambilan sampel yaitu sistematik random sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, ditemukan empat famili dan lima genera zooplankton krustasea, yang diperoleh dari Perairan Pantai Jepara. Tiga genera yaitu Acetes , Lucifer dan Mysis terdapat dalam jumlah yang lebih melimpah, dibandingkan genus Thysanopoda dan Viatrix . Jumlah genus yang diperoleh sama di semua lokasi, namun kelimpahan individu pada masing-masing lokasi penelitian, memiliki kecenderungan dominansi dari genus yang berbeda. Kelimpahan total individu Fase Bulan Baru dan Bulan Purnama lebih kecil, dibandingkan pada fase-fase bulan lainnya. Hal tersebut dikarenakan terjadinya keterlambatan waktu pasang, sehingga Pasang Purnama ( Spring Tide ) terjadi pada Fase Bulan Seperempat dan Bulan Tigaperempat. Various species of fish around the world, proved to be almost all of small pelagic fish and their larvae utilize crustacean zooplankton as food. The abundance of crustacean zooplankton in the waters, depend on the condition of the aquatic environment and the power recruitment of the each species. Tidal patterns that occur in waters will determine the distribution and abundance of crustacean zooplankton residing in these waters, where the tidal pattern depend on phase of moon. Moon phase consists of the New Moon phase, Quarter Moon Phase, Full Moon Phase and Three-quarters Moon Phase. Strength of tides that occur in the Spring Tide is greater than Neap Tide. That's because of differences in tide generating force associate position of the moon and the sun to the earth.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of moon phase on the abundance and composition of crustacean zooplankton in the Jepara Coastal Waters. This research was conducted in November-December 2013. The materials used in this study were crustacean zooplankton samples, it were obtained at three study sites, that was the Teluk Awur, Kartini Beach and Panjang Island. The method used in this research was descriptive method, with sampling method was a systematic random sampling. The results showed that there were found four families and five genera of crustacean zooplankton were collected from Jepara Coastal Waters. Three genera i.e.: Acetes , Lucifer and Mysis were found more abundance than Thysanopoda and Viatrix . The numbers of genera obtained equally in all locations, but the abundance in each study site, tended to be dominated by different genus. Total abundance of individuals at New Moon Phase and Full Moon Phase was smaller than the two others moon phases.
