Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kerapatan rumput laut berdasarkan substrat perairan, kelimpahan epifauna berdasarkan substrat perairan, dan hubungan antara kerapatan rumput laut dengan kelimpahan epifauna. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Langkah penelitian yang digunakan yaitu survey lokasi penelitian, sampling, identifikasi, analisis data, dan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu delapan jenis rumput laut dan sepuluh jenis epifauna. Kerapatan relatif tertinggi dari rumput laut di perairan Pantai Teluk Awur Jepara yaitu pada substrat pasir seluas 188,29 m² oleh jenis Padina crassa sebesar 44,38% (600 individu/300 m²). Kelimpahan relatif tertinggi dari epifauna di perairan Pantai Teluk Awur Jepara yaitu pada substrat pasir seluas 188,29 m² oleh jenis Cerithium kochi sebesar 30,144% (63 individu/300 m²). Berdasarkan uji korelasi Spearman kerapatan rumput laut dengan kelimpahan epifauna dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan sangat kuat antara kerapatan rumput laut dengan kelimpahan epifauna. One of the potential that exists in these places is a seaweed which can affect the abundance of benthic biota including epifauna which its movement is limited. Seaweed in the spread and growth are affected by suitability with the substrate, as well as epifauna. In addition, the condition of the waters seen from the parameters of physics and chemistry can also influence the spread and growth of such biota. Factors such as predators and food competition among the same species can also lead to changes in the distribution of sea grass and epifauna. The purpose of this study was to determine the seaweed density based on substrates, an epifauna abundance based on substrates, and the relationship between the seaweed density with epifauna abundance. This study was conducted in November 2013. This research uses descriptive method. Measures used in this study is a survey of study location, sampling, identification, data analysis, and the Spearman correlation test. The results obtained are eight species of seaweed and ten species of epifauna. The highest density of seaweed in the waters of the Coast Teluk Awur Jepara is on sand substrate area of 188,29 m² is a Padina crassa was 44,38% (600 individual/300 m²). The highest abundance of epifauna in the waters of the Coast Teluk Awur Jepara is on sand substrate area of 188,29 m² is a Cerithium kochi was 30,144% (63 individual/300 m²).
