Abstract

ABSTRACT

Background: Stunting is strongly influenced by inadequate nutrition. Stunting found in infants from 1 to 2 years of age is caused by inadequate complementary feeding practices in the early months of complementary feeding and frequent infections.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze whether there is an association between IMD and mixed feeding in the first 6 months with the incidence of stunting in the Pengambiran Puskesmas working area.

Methods: This study is an analytic observational with a retrospective case control design. The sample in this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 24-48 months with case and control groups. The total sample in this study was 138 with an unpaired categorical comparative formula. The sampling method in the case group was directly carried out by consecutive sampling, while in the control group it was carried out by proportional sampling first and then taken by consecutive sampling.

Results: The results of this study are that there is no relationship between IMD and the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Pengambiran health center in Padang City with p - Value = 0.39. on the indicator of giving mixed feeding in the first 6 months with the incidence of stunting, it can be seen that there is no relationship between giving mixed feeding in the first 6 months with the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Pengambiran health center with p - Value = 0.391 (p - Valule < 0.05).

Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between IMD and the incidence of stunting in the Pengambiran Puskesmas working area and the provision of Mix Feeding in the first 6 months with the incidence of stunting in the Pengambiran Puskesmas working area.
