HUBUNGAN ANTARA SENSE OF COMMUNITY DENGAN PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO SEMARANG

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sense of community dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro Semarang. Sense of community adalah perasaaan memiliki tujuan bersama, saling menghargai, mendukung usaha satu sama lain, serta percaya bahwa setiap orang memberi kontribusi yang penting bagi pembelajaran antara mahasiswa, dosen, dan tenaga kependidikan. Prokrastinasi akademik adalah penundaan dalam memulai, proses mengerjakan, dan penyelesaian tugas akademik yang penting dan seharusnya dapat diselesaikan tepat waktu.

 

Populasi penelitian  adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro Semarang angkatan 2009, 2010, dan 2011 sebanyak 496 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 124 orang yang diperoleh melalui teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian menggunakan dua buah skala yaitu Skala Prokrastinasi Akademik  yang terdiri atas 38 item (α = 0,935) dan Skala Sense of Community yang terdiri atas 42 item (α = 0,925).

 

Hasil analisis data dengan metode uji korelasi menghasilkan koefisien korelasi (rxy) sebesar -0,421 dengan p = 0,000 (p<0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan arah hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara sense of community dengan  prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro Semarang angkatan 2009, 2010, dan 2011. Semakin tinggi sense of community maka semakin rendah  prokrastinasi akademik atau sebaliknya.
