KESIAPAN BERSEKOLAH ANAK DI MATA ORANG TUA SISWA PAUD

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kesiapan bersekolah dalam persepsi orang tua siswa PAUD. Kesiapan bersekolah merupakan prediktor bagi prestasi anak di jenjang pendidikan dasar sehingga menjadi sebuah konsep penting untuk diupayakan oleh orang tua dan guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif eksplorasial. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner terbuka. Analisis data atas respon dari 39 orang tua siswa memberikan gambaran mengenai kondisi yang dinilai penting dan teridentifikasi dari anak sebagai dasar orang tua memutuskan anak siap bersekolah. Prioritas kondisi yang penting bagi kesiapan bersekolah anak dimulai dari kemampuan fisik, kesehatan dan motorik serta kemampuan berkomunikasi, disusul kematangan kognitif, kemampuan motivasional, serta kemampuan kepedulian lingkungan pada urutan terakhir.
