Agar kerusakan hutan mangrove tidak berlanjut, diperlukan upaya konservasi di daerah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kerapatan dan keragaman mangrove, mengidentifikasi pemahaman responden tentang konservasi mangrove, serta menganalisis kesesuaian lahan mangrove bagi kegiatan konservasi di Desa Timbul Sloko. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2014 - Februari 2015 di Desa Timbul Sloko Kecamatan Sayung, Demak. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tiga stasiun, setiap stasiun terdiri dari tiga titik sampling,variabel yang diukur adalah kerapatan, keanekaragaman, pasang surut, arus, salinitas, pH dan substrat. Analisis kesesuaian dilakukan dengan pembuatan matriks kesesuaian kemudian pembobotan dan perhitungan skor berdasarkan tingkat pengaruh dari setiap variabel terhadap daerah yang potensial untuk dijadikan kawasan konservasi mangrove. Uji validitas dan reliabilitas menggunakan aplikasi SPSS untuk mengetahui nilai modus kuesioner pada setiap responden. Hasil Kerapatan mangrove di desa tersebut seluruh stasiun berkisar antara 0,06 – 0,45 ind/m2, keanekaragaman (H’) tergolong sedang. Sebagian besar responden (52,9% - 87,4%) memahami tentang konservasi mangrove. Hasil analisa kesesuaian lahan konservasi mangrove pada stasiun 1 dan 3 berada pada kelas sangat sesuai dan pada stasiun 2 berada pada kelas sesuai. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah lahan pada Desa Timbul Sloko Kecamatan Sayung, Demak dapat dijadikan daerah konservasi karena variabel pada daerah tersebut mendukung pertumbuhan mangrove. Conditions of mangrove swamp the Sayung Subdistrict, Demak Regency have been suffering coastal erosion that cause a damage of ponds area and other infrastructures. To prevent the further demage of mangrove forest is needed a conservation efforts in the area. This study aimed to know the density and diversity of mangrove ecosystems, to identify respondents knowledge about conservation of mangroves, and to analyze land suitability of mangrove for conservation activities. This study was conducted from November 2014 - February 2015 at the Timbul Sloko village. Data is collected at three stations, each station consists of three point sampling. The measured variables used in this study were density, diversity, tides, currents, salinity, pH and substrate. Analysis of suitability was conducted by making a suitability weight matrix and the score calculating based on the influence level from each variables that potential to be a mangrove conservation area. Validity and reliability tests done using SPSS to know mode value of questionnaires from each respondent. The results showed mangroves density on the all station ranged from 6 - 45 ind /100m2, diversity (H') is moderate. Mostly respondents understand about mangrove conservation (52.9% - 87.4%). The results of the land suitability for analysis of mangrove conservation in stations 1 and 3 are at a very appropriate class and at appropriate class at station 2. The study concludes that land on the Timbul Sloko village, Sayung subdistrict, Demak can be used as a conservation area because variables in the area support the growth of mangrove. }, issn = {2721-6233}, pages = {139--147} doi = {10.14710/marj.v4i3.9331}, url = {https://ejournal3.undip.ac.id/index.php/maquares/article/view/9331} }
