Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kondisi Tutupan terumbu karang di lokasi perairan Pantai Ujung Gelam, perairan Pantai Batu topeng dan perairan Nyamplungan ,mengetahui kondisi fisik dan kimia perairan pada masing-masing statsiun,mengetahui hubungan faktor fisik dan kimia perairan terhadap tutupan terumbu karang. Metode yang di gunakan adalah metode survei dengan metode sampling adalah purposive sampling. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kondisi fisik dan kimia perairan pada semua statsiun adalah berkisar 29 o C – 30,3 o C, TSS 0,16 – 0,21 mg/l , Salinitas 34,67 -34,92 o / oo, . pH 7,11-7,13. DO 4,92 – 5,95 mg/L dan kekeruhan 1,73 – 2,1 NTU, faktor fisik dan kimia perairan masih mendukung untuk pertumbuhan terumbu karang di pulau Karimunjawa . Tutupan terumbu karang hidup pada seluruh statsiun berkisar 43,9 – 46 % termasuk kedalam kategori sedang. Hubungan antara faktor fisik – kimia perairan menunjukan hubungan yang lemah – hubungan yang sangat berarti terhadap tutupan terumbu karang hidup. Coral reef ecosystem is the one of the main coastal and marine ecosystems. Coral reef at karimunjawa island has been used for economic activity as Fishing and marine tourism, with these activity, can cause impacts on coral reefs and changed phsyical and chemical quality of water. The aims of this research is to know percent cover of coral reef at Ujung gelam, Batu topeng and Nyamplungan, to know condition of physical and chemical water at Ujung gelam, Batu topeng and Nyamplungan, correlation between physic and chemical factor to the percent cover of coral reefs. The methods used in this research is descriptive survei methods, and the methods of sampling is purposive sampling. The result of condition phyiscal and chemical water at all station ranged from 29 o C – 30,3 o C, TSS 0,16 – 0,21 mg/l, Salinity 34,67 -34,92 o / oo, pH 7,11- 7,13, DO 4,92 – 5,95 mg/ l and turbidity 1,73 – 2,1 NTU, physical and chemical factors waters still support for the growth of coral reefs at Karimunjawa island. Live coral cover at all stations ranging from 43,9 – 46 %, Over all based on standar quality of demage to coral reef, coral reef at karimunjawa island on moderate condition catagories.
