THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CHANGE FROM THE LUNPIA APPLICATION TO THE KONCODOLAN APPLICATION IN THE CITY OF SEMARANG
Abstract
Tourism is a strategic sector in economic growth and regional development. The Semarang City Government, through the Department of Culture and Tourism, has developed the Lunpia Application as a digital innovation to increase tourist visit numbers. However, the effectiveness of this application is still limited, so a change was made to the implementation of the Koncodolan Application as an effort to optimize technology-based tourism services. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the transition from the Lunpia Application to the Koncodolan Application and to identify the factors influencing the improvements or obstacles in its usage. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research informants consist of the Semarang City Culture and Tourism Office, application users, and tourism industry practitioners. The research results indicate that the transition to the Koncodolan Application was made to address various limitations present in the Lunpia Application, such as minimal socialization and promotion, lack of innovative and interactive features, and low user engagement. In addition, the integration of the application with other tourism services is still not optimal. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Koncodolan Application through the development of more interactive features, optimization of digital marketing strategies, and increased collaboration with the tourism sector. With these changes, it is hoped that the Koncodolan Application can become a more effective tool in increasing tourist visit numbers and supporting tourism development in the city of Semarang.
