Abstract

High-quality public transportation is a crucial element in supporting urban mobility efficiently and sustainably. TransJakarta, as a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Jakarta, plays a strategic role in reducing traffic congestion and improving public transportation accessibility. However, its implementation still faces various challenges that hinder service optimization, particularly on Corridor 6U, which serves the Pasar Minggu – Blok M route. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the optimization of TransJakarta bus stop services in this corridor and provide applicable recommendations for improvement. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Public administration theories, particularly public service optimization and responsive governance, serve as the foundation for analyzing the collected data. The findings indicate that several key factors affecting service optimization in Corridor 6U include an imbalance between service capacity and passenger demand, inadequate bus stop infrastructure, and suboptimal operational management systems. Technical issues, such as bus delays due to sharing lanes with private vehicles, also pose challenges in improving service efficiency. To address these challenges, this study recommends several strategic measures, including improving bus stop infrastructure by upgrading facilities and enhancing accessibility for people with disabilities, implementing information technology to provide real-time updates for passengers, and strengthening operational management systems to enhance bus schedule accuracy. Additionally, synergy between the local government, TransJakarta operators, and the public is essential to create a more effective, inclusive, and sustainable transportation system. Optimizing bus stop services in Corridor 6U is expected to make Jakarta’s public transportation system more responsive to community needs and improve user satisfaction levels. This study contributes to the development of transportation policies based on transparent, efficient, and community-oriented public service principles.
