Abstract

Kulit merupakan organ luar yang menutupi bagian seluruh tubuh manusia dan memiliki fungsi sebagai pelindung dari pengaruh luar. Body lotion dari bahan baku rumput laut memiliki fungsi sebagai pelembab dan perlindung kulit dari sinar UV. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah karakterisasi bahan baku yang terdiri dari analisa proksimat dan vit C, menganalisis pengaruh penambahan tepung rumput laut terhadap body lotion yang terdiri dari uji organoleptik, uji iritasi, uji daya sebar, uji pH, dan uji nilai SPF. Penelitian ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap yaitu preparasi sampel, formula body lotion rumput laut (F0: kontrol), (F1: 2,5g), (F2: 5g) dan (F3:7,5g), dan karakterisasi body lotion tepung rumput laut. Bentuk bahan baku rumput laut E. cottonii (segar, kering dan tepung) memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang berbeda. Hasil dari karakterisasi bahan baku kadar air E. cottonii segar 88.16%, kering 13.95%, tepung 5.13%, kadar abu E.cottonii segar 2.15%, kering 41.10%, tepung 42.73%. Hasil Vitamin C E. cottonii segar 3.35%, kering 5.76% dan tepung 6.34%. Penambahan tepung rumput laut E. cottonii berpengaruh terhadap karakterisasi body lotion dengan nilai dengan kisaran nilai pH yaitu 7,72-8,29, nilai daya sebar sebesar 3,30-7,40 cm. Hasil uji iritasi diperoleh tidak ada yang terindikasi gejala adema (bengkak) dan indeks rasa gatal terdeteksi sebanyak 2 panelis pada setiap formula. Produk penambahan tepung rumput laut E. cottonii nilai SPF pada sediaan body lotion tertinggi terdapat pada F3 (7,5g tepung rumput laut) sebesar 9,03% (maximum protection). Nilai uji organoleptik terbaik ada pada F2 (5g) jika dibandingkan dengan F0 kontrol. Pemanfaatan tepung rumput laut E. cottonii dapat menjadi inovasi produk dalam bidang kosmetik.

 

 

Skin is an external organ that covers the entire human body and has a protective function from external influences. One of the functions of lotion cosmetic products made from seaweed as raw material is as a skin moisturizer and skin protection (UV light). The aim of this research is the characterization of raw materials consisting of proximate and vitamin C analysis, product characterization, and determining the optimal formulation for body lotion preparations based on physical stability values with organoleptic results from panelists. The raw material forms of E. cottonii seaweed (fresh, dry and flour) have different nutritional contents. The results of the proximate analysis of the water content of fresh E. cottonii were 88.16%, dry 13.95%, flour 5.13%, ash content of fresh E. cottonii 2.15%, dry 41.10%, flour 42.73%. The yield of Vitamin C from fresh E.cottonii was 3.35%, dry 5.76% and flour 6.34%. This research consisted of sample preparation, characterization of raw materials, making products without the addition of seaweed (F0: control), (F1: 2,5g), (F2: 5g) and (F3: 7,5g), and product characterization. The raw material characterization value for fresh seaweed has the highest water content of 88,24%, the highest value for dried seaweed has ash content of 41,1% and the highest value for seaweed flour has an ash content of 42,3%. The range of pH values in body lotion preparations is 7,72-8,29 and the spreadability value is 3,30-7,40 cm. The results of the irritation test with 30 panelists detected 0% indicating symptoms of edema (swelling) and the itching index was detected at 2% in each formula. The highest SPF value in the preparation is found in F3 (7,5g seaweed powder) at 9,03% (maximum protection). The highest panelist organoleptic test scores for indicators of texture, color and aroma were found in the F0 body lotion preparation (without the addition of seaweed: control). The best seaweed addition formulation is F1 based on the color, texture and aroma index, no detectable edema irritation.
