In order to not cause further infection, mask waste should be disposed properly. This research is conducted to find differences in mask waste disposal practices among university students and how some of their characteristics may have affected it. A cross-sectional study used an online questionnaire survey to collect 333 university students in Semarang city. Demographic findings showed that good mask waste disposal practice is found among women (56,6%), students aged 36-45 years old and health students (65,6%). It is also found highest among students with good knowledge (61,6%) and students with good attitude (61,5%). The chi-square test showed that there’s a statistically significant correlation among knowledge, attitude, demographic variables and mask waste disposal practice. These variables include age (p = 0,030), sex (p = 0,013), origin of faculty (p = 0,000), knowledge (p-value: 0,000), and attitude (p-value: 0,000). It can be concluded that good mask waste disposal practice is found more among health students and is significantly affected by knowledge and attitude. It is advised for future researchers to look further into mask waste handling as it could help prevent infectious diseases outbreak }, issn = {2356-3346}, pages = {282--289} doi = {10.14710/jkm.v12i4.39810}, url = {https://ejournal3.undip.ac.id/index.php/jkm/article/view/39810} }
