PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PROBIOTIK DALAM PAKAN BUATAN TERHADAP TINGKAT KONSUMSI PAKAN DAN PERTUMBUHAN BENIH IKAN NILA (Oreochromis niloticus)

Abstract


Probiotik merupakan salah jenis bakteri fotosintetik yang mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan pertumbuhan ikan.  Jenis bakteri seperti Lactobacillus sp, Actinomycetes sp, Streptomycetes sp, dan ragi sering diperlukan dalam probiotik untuk ditambahkan kedalam pakan ikan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh probiotik dalam pakan terhadap efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan pertumbuhan ikan nila.  Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL)  yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan 3 kali ulangan.   Masing-masing perlakuan diberikan penambahan dosis probiotik sebesar 0, 5, 10, 15, dan 20 g/kg pakan.  Benih nila berukuran 5-6 cm ditebarkan dalam bak plastik bervolume 45.78 cm3 dengan kepadatan 12 ekor/12 liter.  Selama pemeliharaan, ikan diberi pakan secara at satiation dengan frekuensi 3 kali sehari.  Variabel yang diamati meliputi laju pertumbuhan relatif, tingkat konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, protein efisiensi rasio, dan kelulushidupan ikan uji.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik sebesar 10 g/kg pakan menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan relatif sebesar 3.20% per hari, tingkat konsumsi pakan sebesar 83.86 g, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan sebesar 77.23%, protein efisiensi rasio sebesar 2.17% dan kelulushidupan benih nila sebesar 90 %.  Hasil penelitian ini dapat simpulkan bahwa pemberian probiotik 10 g/kg pakan mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan serta pertumbuhan benih nila (O. niloticus).


Probiotic is one of photosynthetic bacterias that able to increase diet utilization efficiency and fish growth. The bacterias like Lactobacillus sp, Actinomycetes sp, Streptomycetes sp, and yeast are often needed in probiotic to be added to practical diet. This research were aimed to study the effect of probiotics in practical diet on the diet utilization efficiency and growth performances of tilapia. This study was conducted in April until June 2014 in the Wet Laboratory of Aquaculture Study Programme, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. Each treatment used diet containing the probiotic of 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 g/kg diets respectively. Tilapia juveniles sized 5-6 cm were cultured in the container with density 12 fishes /12 liter water. The feeding frequency was 3 times a day and applied at satiation method. The variables measured were relative growth rate, diet consumption rate, diet utilization efficiency, protein efficiency ratio, and survival rate the tilapia. The data showed that the addition of EM4-probiotic of 10 g/kg diet resulted on the values best for the relative growth rate (i.e. 3.2 %/day), diet consumption utilization (i.e. 83.86%), diet utilization efficiency (i.e. 77.23%), protein efficiency ratio (i.e 2.17%), and fish survival rate (i.e. 90%). It was concluded that the addition of probiotics of 10 g/kg could improve the diet efficiency utilization and growth rate of tilapia (O. niloticus) juvenile.
