EFEKTIVITAS INTERPERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY (IPT) UNTUK MENGATASI SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR PADA REMAJA DENGAN PERMASALAHAN POLA KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA

Abstract
Masa remaja merupakan salah satu tahapan perkembangan dengan berbagai tantangan yang menyebabkan adanya resiko untuk mengalami stress dan menjadi faktor risiko suicidal behavior. Penelitian sebelumnya mengungkapkan bahwa salah satu faktor risiko suicidal behavior pada remaja adalah kurang harmonisnya hubungan interpersonal diantara remaja dan orangtua. Keluarga merupakan ikatan sosial terpenting dimana remaja dengan persepsi pola komunikasi keluarganya bermasalah lebih rentan memunculkan suicidal behavior. Remaja yang memiliki suicidal behavior memerlukan intervensi psikologis yang berfokus pada upaya untuk memperbaiki hubungan dengan orangtua. Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) merupakan salah satu intervensi yang dipilih untuk memperbaiki pola komunikasi dalam keluarga sehingga mampu menurunkan suicidal behavior pada remaja. Pada penelitian ini intervensi diterapkan pada 3 remaja yang memiliki permasalahan pola komunikasi dalam keluarga yang memiliki skor tinggi pada Youth Risk Behavior (YRB) kluster perilaku bunuh diri. Participant terjaring melalui iklan yang diposting di media massa dan kemudian menyatakan diri secara sukarela mengikuti intervensi. IPT dilaksanakan selama empat sesi dengan jeda satu minggu antar sesi serta terdapat sesi follow-up. Ketiga partisipan tersebut berjenis kelamin perempuan dengan rata-rata usia 18 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa IPT dapat menurunkan intensitas suicidal behavior pada ketiga partisipan. Hal ini terlihat dari penurunan skor intensitas perilaku bunuh diri dan wawancara kualitatif yang dilakukan.
