HUBUNGAN COGNITIVE EMOTION REGULATION STRATEGIES KURANG ADAPTIF DAN DEPRESI PADA REMAJA AKHIR

Abstract
Depresi sering dialami oleh sebagian besar orang terutama pada remaja akhir. Terus menerus menghadapi situasi yang tidak menyenangkan dan kurang dapat meregulasi emosinya dengan baik membuat depresi pada seseorang terus meningkat. Cognitive emotion regulation strategies adalah teori regulasi emosi yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini hanya menggunakan cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif mengingat remaja akhir seringkali memakai cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif dalam menghadapi kejadian tidak menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif dan depresi pada remaja akhir. Kutcher Adolescent Depression Scale (Brooks dkk., 2003) dipakai untuk mengukur depresi, sedangkan Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Garnefski dkk., 2001) digunakan dalam mengukur cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif. Jumlah partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebesar 207 orang remaja akhir dengan metode pengambilan sampel berbasis internet volunteer (opt.) in panel. Hasil yang ditemukan yaitu terdapat hubungan positif empat strategi dari cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif (self-blame, rumination, catastrophizing, dan blaming others) dengan depresi. Catastrophizing ditemukan memiliki hubungan terkuat dengan depresi. Saran untuk remaja akhir ialah belajar untuk mengurangi cognitive emotion regulation strategies kurang adaptif masih ada strategi adaptif yang dapat digunakan guna menyelesaikan masalah.
