Abstract

The Dean's Building of the Faculty of Law at Udayana University, as the center for administration and academics, requires a reliable fire protection system to ensure the safety of its occupants and minimize losses due to fire. The evaluation of the fire protection system in this building aims to provide an assessment of the fire protection system using a quantitative method by comparing the available data related to the Dean's Building of the Faculty of Law at Udayana University with applicable rules and standards. The data on this building was obtained from the Planning Documents by the Planning Consultant PT Aretas Wicaksana Consultant and some were obtained through the data listed on the Udayana University website. This building has four fire protection systems in place: Hydrant, Fire Alarm System, Fire Extinguishers, and Emergency Exits. According to the Indonesian National Standards, the National Fire Protection Association, Ministerial Regulations, and several expert journals, the Fire Alarm System and Fire Extinguishers in this building are compliant, but there are some issues with the Hydrant and Emergency Exits that do not yet meet the standards. The evaluation results will generate suggestions for changes or solutions to improve the Dean's Building to be even better. These suggestions and solutions will be made in the form of a redesign.
