Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengamatan di lapangan dan kuisioner dengan diberi skor menggunakan skala Likert. Uji Rank Spearman digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang didapatkan. Total Responden yang digunakan adalah 120 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat tentang konservasi 65% rendah, tingkat persepsi masyarakat dalam konservasi 54 % rendah sedangkan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi 56% tinggi. Hasil analisis tidak terdapat korelasi positif nyata antara pengetahuan konservasi dengan persepsi (F= 0,087), terdapat korelasi positif nyata antara konservasi dengan partisipasi (F= 0,000) dan terdapat korelasi positif nyata antara persepsi dan partisipasi (F= 0,000). Sempu Island is a Nature Reserve located in the village of Tambak Rejo, Malang. It is known as a tourism spot. This study were conducted to determine the public knowledge on conservation, public perception and public participation in supporting conservation of the Sempu Island Nature Reserve area and to know the relationship between knowledge of conservation, perception and public participation in the conservation. Research was conducted in May 2014. The study used a descriptive method. Data collected by field observations and scored questionnaires using a Likert Scale's. The Spearman Rank test was used to analyse the data. Total number of respondent was 120 respondents. The results of this study show that 65% of public have low level of conservation knowledge, 54% of public had a low perception of the conservation program, while 56% of public had a high participation rate on coservation . The result of the analysis showed that there was no significant positive correlation between knowledge for conservation and the public perception (F= 0,087).
