Abstract

Pemasangan roda gigi secara ideal tidak mengalami misalignment, baik axial maupun angular misalignment. Namun, pemasangan roda gigi dilapangan terkadang terdapat misalignment sehingga bisa berpotensi mengakibatkan kegagalan roda gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tekanan kontak maksimum dan tegangan kaki maksimum yang terjadi ketika kondisi ideal, axial misalignment, angular misalignment, serta perbandingan tegangan kontak dan tegangan kaki antara kondisi ideal dan kondisi axial maupun angular misalignment. Roda gigi dimodelkan dalam kondisi ideal, axial misalignment sebesar 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, dan 6 mm, serta angular misalignment sebesar 1°, 2°, 3°, 4°, 5°, dan 6° kemudian dilakukan analisis elemen hingga untuk memperoleh nilai tekanan kontak dan tegangan kaki di bagian gigi – gigi yang berkontak. Nilai tekanan kontak maksimum dan tegangan kaki maksimum semakin besar seiring semakin besarnya misalignment dimana roda gigi beroperasi secara aman ketika kondisi ideal. Selain itu, angular misalignment lebih berpotensi mengakibatkan kegagalan roda gigi daripada axial misalignment.
