Analisis Strategi Dalam Meningkatkan Daya Tarik Wisata Pantai Karanggongso Kabupaten Trenggalek

Abstract

Tourism is an important sector in regional development, including in Trenggalek Regency. Trenggalek Regency has abundant natural resources and socio-cultural resources. One of the leading tourist destinations that has great potential to be developed is Karanggongso Beach. Karanggongso Beach is located in Watulimo District and is the only beach that is currently traversed by the National Strategic Project (PSN) South Cross Road, this provides new opportunities and strengths for Karanggongso Beach, even so there are still some shortcomings and threats. This research aims to analyze the strategy of increasing the tourist attraction of Karanggongso Beach, Trenggalek Regency, with a SWOT analysis approach (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). The focus of this research is to identify internal and external factors that affect tourism management, as well as formulate appropriate strategies to increase tourist visits and regional economic contributions. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection through document study and distribution of questionnaires given to relevant stakeholders, namely the Tourism and Culture Office of Trenggalek Regency. Data analysis was conducted using the IFAS and EFAS methods to assess internal and external factors affecting the tourist attractiveness of Karanggongso Beach. The results showed that Karanggongso Beach has several advantages, such as natural beauty, better accessibility thanks to the Southern Cross Line, and the potential for ecotourism-based development. However, there are also weaknesses, such as the lack of supporting facilities, the low implementation of CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) standards, and the lack of optimal digital tourism promotion. From the SWOT analysis, this study formulates the main strategies, such as improving tourist facilities, optimizing digital marketing, counseling and certification for tourism businesses, and partnerships with investors for the development of supporting infrastructure
