Abstract

Children are the nation's future generation, yet their rights are not fully guaranteed. The prevalence of violence in educational environments highlights the urgent need for child protection. The Child-Friendly School (SRA) program serves as the government's strategy to create a safe educational environment that upholds children's rights. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Child-Friendly School program at SMP Negeri 73 South Jakarta and identify the factors influencing its implementation. It employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies from both primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that the implementation of SRA remains suboptimal. (1) Program and beneficiaries: socialization is still one-way, facilities are inadequate, and the complaint mechanism is ineffective. (2) Program and implementing organization: the school has policies and an implementation team, but lacks adequate teacher training and faces funding limitations. (3) Beneficiaries and implementing organization: students’ understanding of the program is uneven, parental involvement is mostly financial, and student participation is low due to the SRA team’s inactivity since 2022. Enhancing interactive socialization, strengthening educator capacity through continuous training, and fostering collaboration with the private sector and community organizations are essential to increasing student and parental participation.
