Abstract

The use of Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) plays an important role in supporting a sustainable family planning program. However, its implementation in Banyuasin Regency still faces challenges. Two main issues identified are the gap between the target achievements in the Performance Agreement of the P2PAP2KB Office and the actual usage of LARC in 2023, as well as the low participation of the community in using LARC compared to non-long acting contraception. This study aims to identify strategies that can be used by the P2PAP2KB Office of Banyuasin Regency to increase the use of LARC, and analyze the factors that influence these strategies. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach by describing phenomena in detail through a SWOT analysis of internal and external factors. Based on the SWOT analysis and litmus test, two main issues were identified that need to be addressed by the P2PAP2KB Office: distributing family planning counselors more evenly to areas in need, utilizing inter-agency cooperation to provide dditional support in areas lacking workforce, and building a planned workforce monitoring system to ensure a fair distribution of the family planning counselors' workload, as well as involving related institutions to support areas with limited workforce. Based on the research results, it is recommended that the P2PAP2KB Office of Banyuasin Regency distribute family planning counselors more evenly to areas in need, utilize inter-agency cooperation to provide additional support in areas lacking workforce, and build a planned workforce monitoring system to ensure a fair workload distribution and involve related institutions to support areas with limited workforce.
