Journal History

• Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan is an open-access journal that publishes research conducted by students, lecturers and researchers in the field of Library and Information Science.
• The journal was first published on 8 October 2012, Vol. 1, No. 1, 2012. The journal serves as an internal repository, containing summaries of students’ theses in journal format, written by students of the Bachelor’s programme in Library Science, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. It is published quarterly (four times a year: January, April, August, and October) and is reviewed by the teaching staff of the Bachelor’s programme in Library Science. 
• From 2022, Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan has reduced the number of issues. Originally published four times a year (January, April, August, and October), it is now published twice a year (April and October). Additionally, there have been changes to the author guidelines: the article template, which was originally two-column, has been adjusted and changed to a single-column format.
• Specifically for issues from Volume 13, No. 1 (2024): April 2024 onwards, a journal cover will be produced for each volume, accompanied by a description of the specific collaborative activities that led to the publication of the resulting output in the journal.
• From Volume 14, No. 1, April 2025, Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan has been granted an ISSN Publication Number: 3109-2535.
• From Vol. 14, No. 2 (2025): October 2025, Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan will no longer be used as an internal repository. The journal will accept articles on an open-access basis. In line with its scope, the journal welcomes submissions from authors of diverse backgrounds and affiliations. A peer-review process will be conducted to ensure the quality of the published journal.
• In October 2025, Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan was registered with DOI (Crossref) and will be automatically indexed by Dimensions.
• Vol 15, No 1 (2026): April 2026, Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan employs a double-blind review process—the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Furthermore, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers. A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued for accepted manuscripts.
