Abstract

Financing factor is the most important aspects to the ongoing
activities of terrorism. FATF was established to implement
international standards and promote effective measures in dealing
with financial crimes such as money laundering and financing
terrorism,and had set up series of recommendations. FATF has
concerning with Indonesia since Indonesia have been blacklisted by
FATF related to financing terrorism. This research uses qualitative
method with descriptive type. The analysis in this research uses
International Society Centric Constructivism supported by Martha
Finnemore which assumes that the norm offered by international
organizations may affect countries to adopt these norms as their
national policy. The regime approach is also used in this study,
through the basic assumption that international organization plays a
role as regulator that require member states to submissive it.
Indonesia has national interest in the international world, and this is
the background for Indonesian government to comply with and
implement the FATF nine special recommendations in handling the
financing of terrorism.The results of this study concluded that by
improving compliance and implementation of the FATF
recommendations, Indonesia could preserve the security and stability
of the country's efforts to combat the financing terrorism and raising
integrity in the international community.
