PENGARUH PENGKAYAAN NUTRISI MEDIA KULTUR DENGAN SUSU BUBUK AFKIR TERHADAP KUANTITAS DAN KUALITAS PRODUKSI CACING SUTERA (Tubifex sp.)

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengkayaan nutrisi media kultur dengan susu bubuk afkir terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas produksi cacing sutera dan mengetahui kadar pemberian susu bubuk afkir yang memberikan hasil terbaik untuk meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas produksi cacing sutera. Materi uji yang digunakan adalah cacing sutera dengan kepadatan 150 g/m2. Wadah disusun bertingkat dengan sistem resirkulasi air dengan debit 0,6 liter/menit. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini: perlakuan A (tanpa susu bubuk afkir), B (susu bubuk afkir dengan dosis 2%), C (susu bubuk afkir dengan dosis 4%), dan D (susu bubuk afkir dengan dosis 6%). Data yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan populasi, biomassa mutlak, kandungan nutrisi cacing sutera dan kualitas air.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengkayaan nutrisi media kultur dengan susu bubuk afkir memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan populasi, biomassa mutlak, dan kandungan nutrisi cacing sutera. Pertumbuhan populasi tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan C (70,6x104 ind/m2). Pertumbuhan biomassa tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan D (886,80 g/m2). Kandungan tertinggi protein dan lemak cacing sutera masing-masing telah terjadi pada perlakuan A (48,63 %) dan perlakuan C (31,13%). Kualitas air selama penelitian untuk nilai suhu dan Oksigen terlarut (DO) dalam kisaran yang layak, sedangkan nilai pH dan ammonia dalam kisaran tidak layak, namun cacing selama penelitian masih dapat hidup dan tumbuh. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengkayaan nutrisi media kultur dengan susu bubuk afkir berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan populasi, biomassa dan kandungan nutrisi pada cacing sutera. Pengkayaan dengan dosis 4% memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas cacing sutera.

 

The research was aimed  to know the effect of nutrient enrichment in culture medium with rejected milk powder on the quantity and quality of Tubifex and determine the dose of the rejected milk powder that give the best result to increase the quantity and quality of Tubifex  production. The densityof Tubifex  used was      150g.m-2. The Nested containers were using water recirculation system with a water flow 0.6 liters. Min-1. The study was carried out experimentally by using a completely randomized design (CRD) of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this research were treatment A (without rejected milk powder), B (rejected milk powder with a dose of 2%), C (rejected milk powder with a dose of 4%) and D (rejected milk powder with a dose of 6%). The data observed were population growth, the absolute biomass, nutrient content of Tubifex and water quality.

The results showed that nutrient enrichment of culture medium with rejected milk powder were  significantly affected (P <0.05) on the growth population, the absolute biomass and nutrient content of Tubifex. The highest population growth was obtained in treatment C (70.6x104 ind.m­-2). The highest biomass production in treatment D (886.80 g.m-2). The highest protein content and the highest fat content of  Tubifex worm were obtained in treatment A (48.63%) and treatment C (31.13%) respectively . Variable value of water quality during the research as well as temperature and dissolved oxygen were in the feasible range for Tubifex grown. In addition  the value of pH  and ammonia was high range, but worms during the study can still live and grown. It was concluded that nutrient enrichment of culture medium with milk powder were  significantly affected on the growth population, the absolute biomass and nutrient content of Tubifex. The enrichment with a dose of 4% gave the best result on quantity and quality of Tubifex.
