Metode DFA digunakan untuk mengetahui waktu perakitan standar dari suatu produk. Salah satu metode DFA yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian kali ini adalah The Boothroyd Dewhurst. Metode ini dipilih untuk digunakan karena dalam proses perhitungannya lebih detail, dimana penentuan waktu berdasar tabel memperhitungkan sudut-sudut insertion, ketebalan benda, dan ukuran benda. Melalui penelitian yang telah dilakukan dilakukan perbaikan desain dengan mengubah adjustment knob, area pemasangan loudspeaker, desain front cover dan back cover, serta perubahan desain trigger stand. Sehingga diperoleh perbandingan hasil jumlah waktu yang diperlukan untuk memproduksi satu unit produk LCD TV/ Monitor LT-1571 sebelum redesign sebesar 646,41 detik dengan efisiensi 13% dan biaya perakitan sebesar Rp 11.651,30. Sedangkan setelah dilakukan perbaikan desain, diperoleh waktu perakitan yang dibutuhkan adalah 550,16 detik dengan efisiensi 13% dan jumlah biaya perakitan Rp 8.785,52. Today, there are many companies vying for consumer attention by creating a quality product, with the assembly time and production costs to a minimum. This is one way of companies to be able to achieve profit maximization with the aim to promote the company. In the production process of VETRO LT-1571, most of the required production time spent on assembling activities. So the production time should be minimized in case the production cost can be minimized. In order to shorten the assembly time and reduce costs, a company needs to do a redesign of existing products. One method that can be used is Design for Assembly DFA). DFA method used to determine the standard assembly time of a product. One of the DFA method to be used in the present study is the Boothroyd Dewhurst. This method was chosen for use because the process is more detailed calculation, which takes into account the timing based on table insertion angles, the thickness of the object, and the object size. Moreover, in this method there is also the selection and manipulation of material factors which aims to shorten assembly times and show the result of a decrease in production cost. Through the research, there are repaired by changing the adjustment knob design, loudspeaker mounting area, design of front cover and back cover, as well as design changes of trigger stand. In order to obtain comparative results the amount of time required to produce one unit of product LCD TV/ Monitor LT-1571 before redesign for 646.41 seconds with 13% efficiency and assembly costs of Rp 11651.30.
