sering dilaporkan. Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) adalah penyakit atau gangguan pada jaringan lunak (otot, sendi, ligament, tendon, tulang rawan) dan sistem saraf (OSHA, 2000). Kasus MSDs di industri jasa menempati urutan pertama diatas perusahaan manufaktur (NIOSH Worker Health Chartbook, 2004). Kondisi kerja seperti ini ditemukan pada aktivitas pekerjaan lini produksi pada PT Sanggar Sarana Baja Transporter, dimana 80% aktivitas produksinya adalah pengelasan (welding). Terdapat pekerjaan yang dominan dilakukan dalam postur kerja berdiri, jongkok, dan membungkuk selama 1 hari kerja (8 jam). Selain itu juga terdapat gerakan – gerakan yang berulang serta memiliki sejumlah postur kerja yang janggal. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal terhadap sejumlah pekerja ternyata terdapat keluhan – keluhan yang dirasakan oleh pekerja pada anggota tubuh tertentu seperti leher, tulang punggung, pinggang, dan bahu. Berdasarkan beberapa fakta – fakta terkait, di atas terjadi Musculoskeletal Disorders pada aktivitas kerja lini produksi PT Sanggar Sarana Baja Transporter (PT SSBT). Analisis yang akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS). Metode ini dipilih karena aktivitas pekerjaan pada lini produksi tersebut dilakuakan dengan postur kerja yang dominan berdiri, sehingga diperlukan penilaian terhadap seluruh tubuh (whole body).

WORK POSTURE ANALYSIS USING OVAKO METHOD WORK POSTURE
ANALYSIS SYSTEM (OWAS) (CASE STUDY: PT SANGGAR SARANA BAJA
TRANSPORTER)

Among the many types of occupational diseases, Musculoskeletal
Disorders is the most commonly reported disease. Musculoskeletal
Disorders (MSDs) are diseases or disorders of the soft tissues (muscles,
joints, ligaments, tendons, cartilage) and the nervous system (OSHA, 2000).
The case of MSDs in the service industry ranks first above the manufacturing
company (NIOSH Worker Health Chartbook, 2004). Working conditions like
this are found in production line production activities at PT Sanggar Sarana
Baja Transporter, where 80% of its production activity is welding. There is
dominant work done in standing posture, squatting, and bending for 1
business day (8 hours). In addition there are repetitive movements and
have a number of strange work postures. Based on the results of preliminary
observation of a number of workers there were complaints - grievances felt
by workers on certain body parts such as neck, spine, waist, and shoulders.
Based on some related facts, above happened Musculoskeletal Disorders on
the work activity of production line PT Sanggar Sarana Baja Transporter
(PT SSBT). The analysis will be performed using the Ovako Work Posture
Analysis System (OWAS) method. This method is chosen because the work
activity on the production line is dilakuakan with a dominant standing posture,
so that the assessment of the whole body (whole body).
