By using a critical historical method and an economic approach, this article aims to analyze the acquisition impact of the Tasikmadu Sugar Factory after having a new status as a state company. According to the study, it can be revealed Tasikmadu Sugar Factory was one of the source incomes for Mangkunegaran's economy until 1945. The changes on the ownership originated from the national government's efforts to restore the post-independence economy by nationalizing private and foreign companies. The Tasikmadu Sugar Factory officially owned by the Indonesian government in 1952. After being nationalized, it was incorporated into a nationally managed institution under the National Agency of State Plantation Companies (BPU-PPN).
