HUBUNGAN REGULASI DIRI DENGAN ADIKSI MEDIA SOSIAL INSTAGRAM PADA SISWA SMK JAYAWISATA SEMARANG

Abstract

Regulasi diri adalah kemampuan untuk merencanakan dan mengarahkan perilaku untuk mencapai suatu tujuan tertentu dengan melibatkan unsur fisik, kognitif, emosional, dan sosial. Sedangkan adiksi media sosial Instagram rasa ketertarikan yang tinggi terhadap suatu hal sehingga menimbulkan keinginan untuk terus-menerus melakukan hal tersebut dan diiringi gejala tertentu pada media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara regulasi diri dengan adiksi media sosial Instagram pada siswa SMK Jayawisata Semarang. Populasi meliputi seluruh siswa SMK kelas X, XI, XII yang berusia 15-18 tahun berjumlah 124 siswa. Sampel sejumlah 89 siswa diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara regulasi diri dengan adiksi media sosial Instagram, dengan koefisien korelasi rxy= -0,231 dan taraf signifikansi 0,029 (p < 0,05). Artinya, semakin tinggi regulasi diri, maka semakin rendah adiksi media sosial Instagram, begitu juga sebaliknya. Regulasi diri memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 5,4% terhadap adiksi media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pertimbangan bagi siswa, orangtua, dan sekolah maupun referensi pendukung bagi peneliti selanjutnya.
