Abstract

Pemanfaatan perangkat lunak open-source OpenFOAM untuk simulasi hambatan kapal planing hull bertipe warped masih relatif terbatas jika dibandingkan dengan pengaplikasiannya pada lambung displacement. Mengingat hasil komputasi dari metode ini memiliki sensitivitas yang tinggi terhadap pengaturan parameter numerik, evaluasi komprehensif sangat diperlukan guna memastikan tingkat akurasi prediksi hidrodinamika. Dalam penelitian ini difokuskan pada evaluasi pengaruh variasi parameter setup OpenFOAM—yang mencakup ukuran mesh (coarse, medium, fine), model turbulensi (k-ε dan k-ω SST), serta teknik mesh (Static Grid, Moving Grid, dan Overset Grid)—terhadap nilai komponen hambatan kapal planing hull pada rentang Fr 1,5 – 2,6. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengkaji tingkat keandalan hasil simulasi komputasi OpenFOAM melalui verifikasi dan validasi secara empiris menggunakan data towing tank dalam memprediksi hambatan total kapal. Objek kajian pada penelitian ini adalah model kapal cepat bertipe warped planing hull (Model Warp-3) yang disimulasikan pada rentang kecepatan dengan bilangan Froude (Fr) 0,65 hingga 1,0 Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan metode simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) dengan penyelesaian persamaan Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS). Pendekatan analitik dilakukan melalui pengujian sensitivitas parameter yang mengkombinasikan tiga teknik diskretisasi mesh (Static Grid, Moving Grid, dan Overset Grid) serta dua pemodelan turbulensi (k-ε dan k-ω SST) di bawah kondisi dinamis dua derajat kebebasan (heave dan pitch). Pendekatan Grid Convergence Index (GCI) diterapkan untuk studi konvergensi mesh, yang dilanjutkan dengan validasi Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) terhadap data eksperimental towing tank. Hasil analisis mengindikasikan bahwa adanya faktor penentu dalam pemilhan model turbulen dan disesuaikan dengan kondisi pada nilai Fr atau nilai karena hambatan selinear dengan kecepatan. Selain itu, terdapat adanya hubungan berbanding terbalik antara hambatan tekanan atau hambatan sisa dan hambatan kekentalan atau hambatan gesek.
