STUDI NUMERIK EFEK GEOMETRI CONE DAN INCOMING FLOW TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK ALIRAN PADA SPOUTED BED

Abstract

Reaktor spouted bed merupakan salah satu teknologi yang banyak ditemukan pada proses Fluidized Bed Chemical Vapor Deposition (FBCVD). Teknologi lini digunakan untuk pelapisan partikel bahan bakar nuklir TRISO karena mampu menghasilkan sirkulasi partikel yang stabil serta perpindahan panas dan massa yang sangat baik. Karakteristik hidrodinamika reaktor ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh geometri cone dan kondisi aliran gas masuk (incoming flow) yang digunakan. Studi ini diarahkan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi geometri cone dan incoming flow terhadap karakteristik aliran pada spouted bed menggunakan pendekatan Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Simulasi dilakukan secara dua dimensi (2D) dengan pendekatan multiphase Eulerian Two-Fluid Model (TFM) pada kondisi transien menggunakan udara sebagai fase gas dan partikel padat sebagai fase granular. Hasil simulasi ditemukan bahwa variasi geometri cone dan incoming flow berpengaruh terhadap pola sirkulasi partikel, kestabilan zona spout, pembentukan fountain, serta luas dead zone. Selain itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menentukan konfigurasi geometri yang memberikan karakteristik hidrodinamika paling stabil dengan pressure drop yang rendah sehingga dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan dan optimasi desain reaktor spouted bed untuk proses pelapisan partikel TRISO.
