Abstract

Pemanfaatan energi baru terbarukan melalui Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Arus Laut (PLTAL) mendorong pengembangan turbin Gorlov sebagai salah satu Vertical Axis Water Turbine (VAWT) yang memiliki keunggulan pada kondisi aliran rendah, namun interaksi fluida dan struktur bilah berpotensi menimbulkan tegangan dan deformasi yang memengaruhi keandalan struktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis distribusi tekanan pada bilah turbin, mengevaluasi respon mekanis struktur melalui pendekatan One-Way Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), serta mengidentifikasi titik kritis berdasarkan tegangan dan deformasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) untuk memperoleh distribusi tekanan pada variasi Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) yang kemudian dipetakan ke analisis struktur menggunakan Finite Element Method (FEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa distribusi tekanan dipengaruhi oleh variasi TSR dengan tekanan maksimum terjadi pada sisi depan bilah, tegangan dan regangan maksimum teralokasi pada sambungan antara bilah-plat dan area sekitar poros, serta deformasi maksimum terlokalisasi pada bagian tengah leading edge, namun nilai tegangan maksimum masih berada di bawah batas kekuatan material sehingga struktur dinyatakan aman. Dengan demikian, turbin Gorlov yang dianalisis memiliki karakteristik struktural yang memenuhi kriteria keamanan dan berpotensi untuk diaplikasikan pada sistem PLTAL.
