Abstract

Perpindahan panas pada pemindah kalor sirip dan tabung merupakan penelitian yang sudah banyak dilakukan. Penelitian ini banyak dilakukan karena menyangkut dengan keberjalanan dunia industri di mana komponen heat exchanger memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Berbagai usaha dilakukan untuk mengoptimalisasi perpindahan panas pada FTHE. Mulai dari menambahkan sirip pada tabung dan menggunakan sirip bergelombang untuk mengganggu lapisan udara. Namun vortex generator atau VG menjadi komponen yang sekarang banyak dikenal untuk meningkatkan perpindahan panas pada FTHE. Jurnal ini membahas penggunaan rectangular winglet vortex generator (RWVG) serta pengaruhnya dalam meningkatkan efisiensi perpindahan panas. VG yang digunakan memiliki variasi sudut serang 20°, 15°, dan 10° dengan variasi kecepatan pengujian 0,4 m/s hingga 2 m/s dengan interval 0,2 m/s. Hasil eksperimen membuktikan bahwa spesimen jenis zig-zag atau staggered memiliki hasil terbaik diikuti oleh spesimen inline. Nilai PEC atau Performance Evaluation Criteria menjadi persamaan yang digunakan. Persamaan ini membandingkan nilai perpindahan panas dengan nilai faktor gesekan pada spesimen pengujian.
