Abstract

Sejumlah studi sebelumnya mengenai total hip prosthesis telah menitikberatkan pada pengaruh jenis material, penerapan permukaan bertekstur, penggunaan pelapis, serta aspek desain dan geometri komponen. Faktor-faktor tersebut umumnya dianalisis berdasarkan parameter kekuatan, seperti tekanan kontak dan sejenisnya. Meski begitu, kajian yang mengevaluasi kinerja bantalan total hip prosthesis menggunakan parameter kekuatan yang lebih rinci dengan pendekatan dan kriteria berbeda masih terbatas. Penelitian ini menyajikan analisis mekanika kontak yang mencakup tekanan kontak, tegangan von Mises, deformasi, dan tegangan Tresca untuk total hip prosthesis berbahan Si₃N₄-ON-Si₃N₄. Model elemen hingga dua dimensi dikembangkan untuk mendukung proses analisis tersebut. Simulasi numerik dilakukan dengan menerapkan beban fisiologis yang sesuai, seperti yang dialami sendi panggul manusia saat berjalan normal. Dengan memvariasikan ketebalan radial clearance, diperoleh perbedaan nilai parameter mekanika kontak, di mana peningkatan nilai radial clearance menyebabkan peningkatan nilai-nilai dari mekanika kontak tersebut.
