Abstract

Perubahan garis pantai merupakan indikator utama dinamika wilayah pesisir yang dipengaruhi oleh interaksi proses oseanografi, dinamika sedimen, morfologi pantai, dan aktivitas antropogenik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika perubahan garis pantai di pesisir Kecamatan Pangale, Kabupaten Mamuju Tengah, selama periode 2020-2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis penginderaan jauh berbasis citra satelit PlanetScope dengan resolusi spasial 3 m. Ekstraksi garis pantai dilakukan menggunakan Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), sedangkan analisis perubahan garis pantai dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) melalui parameter Net Shoreline Movement (NSM) dan End Point Rate (EPR). Analisis hidrodinamika pesisir didukung oleh data pasang surut dan angin musiman untuk mengidentifikasi faktor pengontrol perubahan garis pantai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar segmen pantai mengalami pergeseran garis pantai ke arah darat, yang mengindikasikan abrasi sebagai proses dominan. Nilai abrasi maksimum berdasarkan NSM mencapai -173.55 m dengan rata-rata -23.65 m, sedangkan akresi hanya terjadi secara lokal dengan nilai rata-rata 12.59 m. Analisis EPR menunjukkan laju abrasi maksimum sebesar -33.03 m/tahun dengan rata-rata -4.57 m/tahun, yang secara konsisten lebih besar dibandingkan laju akresi. Dominasi angin barat hingga barat laut serta karakteristik pasang surut campuran condong harian ganda berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan energi gelombang dan transport sedimen sejajar pantai. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa pesisir Kecamatan Pangale menunjukkan dinamika garis pantai yang didominasi oleh proses erosi, sehingga diperlukan pengelolaan pesisir yang adaptif dan berbasis proses sebagai dasar mitigasi abrasi dan perencanaan pesisir berkelanjutan.

 

 

Changes in the coastline are a key indicator of coastal area dynamics, influenced by the interaction of oceanographic processes, sediment dynamics, beach morphology, and human activities. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of shoreline changes along the coast of Pangale Subdistrict, Central Mamuju Regency, during the period 2020–2025. The method used is remote sensing analysis based on PlanetScope satellite imagery with a spatial resolution of 3 meters. Shoreline extraction was conducted using the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), while quantitative analysis of shoreline changes was carried out using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) through the parameters of Net Shoreline Movement (NSM) and End Point Rate (EPR). Coastal hydrodynamic analysis was supported by tidal and seasonal wind data to identify the controlling factors of shoreline change. The results show that most beach segments experienced landward shifts of the shoreline, indicating abrasion as the dominant process. The maximum abrasion value based on NSM reached -173.55 m with an average of -23.65 m, while accretion occurred only locally with an average value of 12.59 m. EPR analysis revealed a maximum abrasion rate of -33.03 m/year with an average of -4.57 m/year, which is consistently higher than the accretion rate. The dominance of westerly to northwesterly winds and the characteristics of mixed, mainly semidiurnal tides contribute to increased wave energy and alongshore sediment transport. Overall, the results confirm that the coastline of Pangale Subdistrict is characterized by erosion-dominated shoreline dynamics, highlighting the need for adaptive and process-based coastal management as the basis for abrasion mitigation and sustainable coastal planning in the future.
