ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Spirulina sp. terhadap jumlah total hemosit dan aktivitas fagositosis udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli - Agustus 2012 di Laboratorium Manajemen Kesehatan Hewan Akuatik (MKHA) BBPBAP Jepara.

Metode yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A (tanpa penambahan Spirulina sp.), perlakuan B (penambahan Spirulina sp. 5 gr/kg pakan), perlakuan C (penambahan Spirulina sp. 10 gr/kg pakan), dan perlakuan D (penambahan Spirulina sp. 15 gr/kg pakan). Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah udang vaname stadia juvenil dengan bobot 8,07±0,2 gr/ekor. Pakan diberikan 3 kali sehari dengan feeding rate sebesar 3 % dari total bobot udang/hari, penelitian dilakukan selama 30 hari. Parameter yang diukur yaitu jumlah total hemosit (THC) dan aktivitas fagositosis (AF).

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan Spirulina sp. dalam pakan udang vaname memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap aktivitas fagositosis sebesar 94,66% pada hari ke-30, akan tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah total hemosit udang vaname. Perlakuan C (10 gr/kg) merupakan dosis terbaik bagi peningkatan jumlah total hemosit dan peningkatan aktivitas fagositosis hemolim udang vaname (L. vannamei) pada aplikasi pemberian selama 30 hari.


ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of addition of Spirulina sp. in artificial diet on the total haemocyte count and phagocytosis activity of White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). This research was done in July – August 2012 at Aquatic Animals Management Laboratory of Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Centre.

The Experiment Method was aplicated in this research with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. Treatment of A, B, C, and D were Spirulina sp. addition of 0, 5, 10, 15 gr/kg diet, respectively. The animals test used was White Shrimp juvenile with average weight of 8.07±0,2 gr. The foods had been given 3 times a day with feeding rate of 3% from total weight of shrimp. The research had been done for 30 days. The observed parameters were Total Haemocyte Count (THC) and phagocytosis activity.

The result of research indicated that Spirulina sp. addition in artificial diet of White Shrimp was highly significant effect on the phagocytosis activity on the added of Spirulina sp. on 30th day (P<0,01), but there was no significant effect on the total haemocyte count of White Shrimp (P>0,05).
