PENGARUH TERPAAN KONTEN PADEL DI TIKTOK DAN KREDIBILITAS INFLUENCER TIKTOK @PADEL.CHAOS TERHADAP MINAT BERMAIN PADEL PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO

Abstract

Within roughly three years, Padel has moved from a little-known activity to a fast-growing lifestyle trend among Indonesian students, propelled largely by TikTok rather than conventional advertising, a notable pattern given Padel's relatively steep cost of entry, which should in principle discourage budget-conscious students. This study measures how exposure to Padel themed TikTok content and the perceived credibility of influencer @padel.chaos shape interest in playing Padel among Universitas Diponegoro students, using an explanatory quantitative design with a purposive sample of 100 active students who had encountered the influencer's content, analyzed through multiple linear regression after validity, reliability, and classical assumption testing. Results show that both content exposure and influencer credibility exert positive, significant effects on interest in playing Padel, whether examined individually or together, jointly accounting for 62.5% of its variance, with credibility carrying a marginally larger share of that influence. These findings indicate that who delivers the message matters at least as much as how often it appears, and that content exposure and source credibility remain relevant drivers of interest even for a sport whose price tag would seem to work against it.
