This often results in restrictions and discrimination in terms of opportunities and rights for women to carry out their roles and duties as journalists. Therefore, this study aims to understand the communication narratives of female journalists in facing gender-based discrimination in their career paths in the mass media industry. Three female journalists working in online media, television, and radio were interviewed to explore the communication coordination process they undertook when facing gender discrimination, both within media companies and with external parties. Using Todorov's narrative analysis method, this study found that experiences of discrimination are not singular, but rather dynamic. This process can be found through the communication established by female journalists in pursuing their journalistic careers, experiencing obstacles or problems that have discriminatory connotations such as stereotypes and sexism, to the point of giving rise to critical reflections on the understanding and management of communication in overcoming the problems faced. The results of the study show that in the process of coping, female journalists developed three strategic patterns, including performative resistance through the quality of their reporting, professional ethical negotiations to maintain relationships, and interactional adjustments in workplace communication. These findings confirm that female journalists' experiences of discrimination not only represent individual issues, but also become a source of critical knowledge that reveals structural bias and the meaning of professionalism in journalistic practice.}, pages = {81--94} url = {https://ejournal3.undip.ac.id/index.php/interaksi-online/article/view/53941} }
