ANALISIS FRAMING KASUS KORUPSI HARVEY MOEIS: KAJIAN TERHADAP KONTEN BERITA DI PORTAL BERITA DARING TEMPO.CO

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the online news portal Tempo.co frames its coverage of the tin corruption case invloving Harvey Moeis, particularly during the period from December 2024 to February 2025, when the case became widely discussed following the judge’s verdict, which was considered too lenient. This decision sparked various criticisms as well as support from both the public and the media. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Pan and Kosicki’s framing method, which includes syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The findings reveal that Tempo.co consistently frames the case along two main axes: legas justice, where corruption is framed as an extraordinary crime and the crisis of legal justice within the system. Nonetheless, Tempo.co also provides space for expert opinions and objective evaluation of the verdict. This research is expected to contribute to the study of critical journalism.
