Abstract
This research is motivated by the problem of depicting the development of youth that has an impact on the success story of children, especially for black American children, especially in films. Almost every film genre always presents the role of black children who have a bad future and are always depicted with criminal things and always get discriminatory treatment. Where this makes the perspective of black children as if they do not have a success story in the future. This study aims to determine and understand how important the role of family affection behavior is in children's success stories in general and specifically for black children. This study is a qualitative study using John Fiske's semiotic analysis method with data collection techniques through observation and documentation of the film to observe elements of the film The Blind Side that show the representation of affection behavior. Fiske (2010) states that to see the form of representation must be based on 3 levels, namely the level of reality, representation, and ideology. The results of the study show that the film The Blind Side shows that there are actions that represent affective behavior in children's success stories in general or more specifically for black children. In the study, 18 scenes were found that represent affective behavior in children. Found using Jhon Fiske's television code which is divided into 3, namely the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology
