Abstract

Social media enables the creation of decentralized information and discourse spaces that encourage democracy. The study was conducted using qualitative thematic analysis on 561 comments from 5 posts across 4 different accounts that received the highest engagements from January 14 to February 14, 2025. The findings were then analyzed using Digital Activism and Subaltern Counterpublics Theory, as well as the Push and Pull Factors from Migration Theory. The results show that netizen comments are divided into 54 categorizations, 13 specific themes, and 3 main themes. The main themes contained in the netizen comments also indicate that the arguments reflect "Narratives About Reasons for Leaving Indonesia," "Narratives about the Process and Challenges of Emigration," and "Narratives Related to Sentiments towards the Indonesian Government or Society," which align with Migration Theory. Additionally, the analysis of #KaburAjaDulu not only reflects an invitation for people to work abroad but also provides a space for criticism of the government regarding deep-seated economic, social, and political issues. Furthermore, criticism is also directed at Indonesian society to foster more competent human resources.
