GAYA JURNALISME RADIO PADA PLATFORM X (TWITTER) (ANALISIS ISI KUALITATIF TERHADAP UNGGAHAN AKUN X @E100SS MILIK RADIO SUARA SURABAYA)

Abstract

This study aims to examine the radio journalism style employed on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) through a qualitative content analysis of posts made by the @e100ss account, managed by Radio Suara Surabaya. The background of this research is grounded in the ongoing transformation of radio broadcasting in response to the digital age, where information traditionally delivered through audio formats is increasingly disseminated via textual and visual media on social platforms.
Using the agenda-setting theory, this study aims to identify the journalistic style employed by Radio Suara Surabaya in their digital broadcasting practices. By analyzing content from the @e100ss account, this study seeks to identify the journalistic style adopted by Radio Suara Surabaya in its digital communication practices. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a thematic analysis approach, drawing on the theoretical framework of mass communication functions. Data collection was conducted through content observation and documentation of all posts published by the @e100ss account during the month of October 2024.
The findings reveal a total of 1,921 posts, which can be categorized into five dominant thematic areas: local, national, international, entertainment, and human interest. The content formats utilized include direct tweets, hyperlinks, video news, and citizen journalism contributions. Compared to conventional radio broadcasts, the content distributed via social media is broader and more varied, with a pronounced focus on the informative and watchdog functions of mass media. In terms of journalistic style, Radio Suara Surabaya tends to adopt a community journalism approach, focusing on local issues. This approach encourages public participation and discussion, reflecting active community engagement. The station's presence on social media has significantly expanded its reach and influence, highlighting the evolving role of local radio in the digital communication landscape.
