PENGENDALIAN KUALITAS WELDING PADA NAKADOKO MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN LEAN SIX SIGMA DMAIC DAN 5 WHYS MENUJU ZERO DEFECT (Studi Kasus: PT ABC)

Persaingan industri yang semakin ketat menuntut perusahaan untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas produk guna mempertahankan kepercayaan dan loyalitas pelanggan. PT ABC, perusahaan manufaktur peralatan kesehatan, menghadapi tingginya tingkat cacat (defect) pada proses produksi bagian welding, khususnya pada produk Nakadoko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengendalian kualitas pada proses welding dengan fokus pada jenis kecacatan dominan, mengidentifikasi faktor penyebabnya, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Lean Six Sigma dengan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) dan metode 5 Whys. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis cacat yang paling dominan adalah lupa las, overlap, dan over patter. Melalui analisis Pareto, peta kontrol (control chart), dan perhitungan DPMO, diketahui bahwa proses belum memenuhi standar kapabilitas. Analisis sebab-akibat dan 5 Whys mengidentifikasi akar masalah yang berkaitan dengan faktor manusia, metode kerja, dan kontrol kualitas. Usulan perbaikan difokuskan pada peningkatan pelatihan operator, standarisasi prosedur kerja, serta penguatan pengawasan inspeksi. Implementasi rekomendasi ini diharapkan dapat menurunkan tingkat kecacatan dan mendukung pencapaian zero defect pada proses welding.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive industrial landscape demands companies to maintain and improve product quality to sustain customer trust and loyalty. PT ABC, a healthcare equipment manufacturing company, faces a high defect rate in the welding production process, particularly for Nakadoko products. This study aims to analyze quality control in the welding process by focusing on the dominant types of defects, identifying their root causes, and providing improvement recommendations. The research method employed Lean Six Sigma with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach and the 5 Whys technique. The results indicate that the most dominant defects are missed welds, overlaps, and over patters. Through Pareto analysis, control charts, and DPMO calculation, it was found that the process did not meet the required capability standards. Cause-and-effect analysis and the 5 Whys identified root causes related to human factors, work methods, and quality control deficiencies. The proposed improvements focus on enhancing operator training, standardizing work procedures, and strengthening inspection oversight. Implementing these recommendations is expected to reduce the defect rate and support the achievement of zero defects in the welding process.
