wilayah kerja pulau Sumatera bagian selatan.

Abstract

[OPTIMIZING THE FUEL DISTRIBUTION PATTERN USING TRANSPORTATION THEORY AND
STEPPING STONE METHOD AT PT. PERTAMINA PATRA NIAGA REGIONAL SOUTH
SUMATRA] PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Southern Sumatra is PT Pertamina's Sub Holding
Commercial & Trading which is tasked with carrying out business processes in the form of trading, fuel
handling, fleet and depot management, as well as running Pertamina's downstream business activity chain
with the working area of the southern part of Sumatra Island. To distribute fuel, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga
Regional Sumbagsel uses trains and ships, but these two modes of transportation often experience obstacles.
This study aims to determine an efficient distribution pattern if PT Pertamina Patra Niaga will distribute
fuel using a tanker truck mode of transportation. Based on these transportation theory problems,
calculations are carried out using the North West Corner (NWC), Least Cost, and Vogel's Approximation
Method (VAM) methods and then tested for optimization using the Stepping Stone method to obtain the
distribution pattern with the lowest cost. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the
distribution pattern produced by Vogel's Approximation Method (VAM) is the most efficient solution and
has been optimally tested using the Stepping Stone optimization test method. The total distribution costs that
must be incurred if using this method is IDR 8,488,145,521.
