ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa is the second largest cement industry company in Indonesia. Business
competition forced PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa to evaluate the quality of the packing process at
Plant 4. The latest data for December 2022 shows a defect proportion of >0.02%, a figure which is the
company's standard. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to reduce defects in cement production
in the packing process using Seven tools. With check sheets, stratification, Pareto diagrams,
Histograms, Vehicle maps, Scatter diagrams, and Fishbone, there will be recommended steps based on
these tools. Based on data processing, the highest defects are due to due quality defects with a
cumulative percentage of 36.85% and a total of 206 defects out of 559 defects. There is no correlation
between defects due to quality and other types of defects. In the control chart it is found that the graph
crosses the limit so that handicap assistance is needed using Fisbone. From the Fishbone training,
recommendation steps were made such as giving it to workers, scheduling routine machine cleaning,
adhering to SOP for drying glue and reducing the level of viscosity of glue and ink but not complying
with SOP provisions.
