REGULASI EMOSI DAN NOMOFOBIA PADA MAHASISWA: TINJAUAN LITERATUR

Abstract

Nomofobia adalah ketakutan atau kecemasan berlebihan yang dialami individu ketika kehilangan akses atau tidak dapat menggunakan smartphone. Fenomena ini semakin sering terjadi di kalangan mahasiswa, kelompok usia dewasa awal (18–24 tahun), yang memiliki tingkat ketergantungan tinggi terhadap teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara regulasi emosi dan nomofobia serta menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi hubungan tersebut melalui tinjauan literatur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa regulasi emosi, terutama strategi seperti cognitive reappraisal dan expressive suppression, berhubungan signifikan dengan tingkat nomofobia. Disregulasi emosi menjadi faktor utama yang meningkatkan risiko nomofobia, sering kali dimediasi oleh kesepian, kecanduan media sosial, dan intensitas penggunaan smartphone. Faktor sosial seperti tekanan sosial turut memperburuk ketergantungan pada smartphone, khususnya pada mahasiswa perempuan. Selain itu, perbedaan budaya dan pola adaptasi teknologi mempengaruhi tingkat nomofobia di berbagai konteks. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa nomofobia adalah fenomena kompleks yang melibatkan interaksi antara aspek psikologis, sosial, budaya, dan teknologi. Rekomendasi praktis mencakup pengembangan program intervensi berbasis regulasi emosi, layanan kesehatan mental, dan edukasi penggunaan digital untuk membantu mahasiswa mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap smartphone. Penelitian lebih lanjut dengan desain longitudinal diperlukan untuk memahami hubungan kausal dan mengembangkan strategi mitigasi yang lebih efektif.
